Anthony Horowitz and Ian Fleming Publications / Jonathan Cape have pulled back the sheets of intrigue to reveal the cover to the forthcoming Casino Royale prequel, Forever and a Day.

M laid down his pipe and stared at it tetchily. “We have no choice. We’re just going to bring forward this other chap you’ve been preparing. But you didn’t tell me his name.”
“It’s Bond, sir,” the Chief of Staff replied.
“James Bond.”
Forever and a Day by Anthony Horowitz

With original material by Ian Fleming, this follow up to Trigger Mortis promises fresh drama, a young Bond, the anointing of a Double-O agent and another cracking new chapter in 007’s literary adventures…

Set before the key establishing events of Fleming’s debut James Bond story, Forever and a Day “is the story of the birth of a legend in the brutal underworld of the French Riviera” (Ian Fleming Publications).

In his second Bond novel after 2015’s Trigger Mortis, Horowitz has returned to the 007 world for his sophomore spy novel and is taking events and our man James back to key events before 1953 and a thriller set on the French Riviera and a Cold War Europe gripped by organised crime. The newest addition to Bond’s literary canon is also able to boast not only the return of M and Moneypenny, but a bit of literary assistance from Fleming himself – as Horowitz has been granted access to some unused material to weave and inform his new work.

Forever and a Day is published in the UK by Jonathan Cape on May 31st 2018 and the US in November.
