Following on from news that the latest James Bond will be played by Isaac Rouse opposite Charlotte McBurney, Big Finish Productions now reveal the main cast for their forthcoming Young Bond audio drama, SilverFin!
Not only is the SilverFin author Charlie Higson (King Zero) playing Bond’s Eton tutor Michael Merriot, but Ian Fleming’s niece Lucy Fleming is also joining the project as Madame Ouspenskaya.
Playing Bond’s family figures Uncle Max and Aunt Charmian will be Tim McInnery (Gladiator II, Notting Hill) and Miranda Raison (Spooks, Grace Pervades). And top actress, character voice legend and British institution is Miriam Margolyes (Holy Days, Romeo & Juliet, A Friend of Dorothy) is on board as Cleek MacSawney.

Joining the villainous entourage are William Hope (Aliens) as SilverFin’s sinister Lord Hellebore, Paterson Joseph (Wonka, The Beach) as Dr. Perseus Friend, and Christopher Nathan (Creepshow) as George Hellebore.
Rounding off this silver-lined SilverFin family are Timothy Bentinck (the voice of James Bond in the beloved 1990s video games) as Sergeant White, Harry Marcus (Poldark, Here) as Red Kelly, and Penelope Rawlins as Alfie Kelly.

‘It is a cliche – but one with a firm basis in fact – that 90% of directing is getting the cast right. It was hugely liberating to be told by IFPL that there was no pressure to cast ‘names’, I should just find the best actors I could for each of the roles. I’d be lying if I said I was unaware of the fame of the guest actors I was casting, but I wanted them for their talent – and they don’t come much more talented than Tim McInnerny, Miranda Raison, William Hope and Paterson Joseph.’
Barnaby Edwards | SilverFin | Writer & Director

SilverFin brings the teenage years of Ian Fleming’s legendary secret agent to life in cinematic sound. Pinned to Bond’s initial Eton School years and 1933, SilverFin is about a fledgling James making his first enemies at school, investigating a deadly Scottish loch, meeting his equestrian ally Wilder Lawless and thwarting a new brutal form of warfare threatening the whole world.
Produced by audio drama stalwarts Big Finish, director Barnaby Edwards and producers Lizzy Worsdell and Robert Valentine, this ambitious adaptation is also adapted by Edwards (Doctor Who, Treasure Island). Consisting of sixteen action packed episodes, SilverFin will be available to buy and download exclusively from Big Finish from October 2026. It will be released in two volumes – with each instalment packing over four hours of adventure.
And playing Bond himself is Rouse, Isaac Rouse – and the newest actor to take the James Bond mantle and enter 007’s immortal registry of adventure, style and global intrigue…
